An Introduction

Dear Internet,

How are you today? JK I'm not going to be one of those people; I'm not going to treat the internet like some strange creature that intimidates me. I know that what I am writing now is (hopefully) going to be read by a real person and I really want to connect. I am writing because I have a lot of things to say, and even though the internet is already full of opinions, I have decided to publish mine. I do not think my opinion is necessarily important or life changing, but it's mine. I want to offer you encouragement, ideas, and inspiration, and I would like to share some of my favorite things in life with you, what makes me smile.

So, let us be friends. I will be sharing a lot of what I think with you, and I would love to read what you have to say as well. I will most certainly read the comment section at least six times a day, hoping for that first one. But, if you're anything like me, you might not like to comment on things or get involved. I follow several bloggers and youtubers; I thoroughly enjoy their videos and posts, but I have only posted a comment perhaps six times in the last two years. I totally understand you if you are this person, and will cease conversation about commenting from here on out.

Anyways, I suppose I should tell you what you should expect to see on this blog, so perhaps you will come back, if I have not already scared you away. I would like to say upfront that I am a Christian, so my worldview may be different from yours. But, you know, it might be good to read things from different perspectives; I certainly do, on a daily basis in fact. On this here platform, I would like to post Bible passages that have really encouraged me or hit me really hard, to perhaps encourage yourself or cause reflection. I also may comment on societal issues from a biblical perspective. But do not expect much in the way of current events, for I know almost nothing of what goes on in the world.

I also enjoy fashion and picking out clothes. I might do a couple Outfit of the Day posts (#OOTD for those of you more hip than I). I know that many feel better when they have the right outfit on, and I am no exception. So, when I have found that outfit, I will most undoubtedly share it with you, in order to get positive reinforcement on how good it looks (wink wink).

Crafting is another passion of mine. If I can make something myself, I would rather take on the challenge than spend the money. And I'm not going to be one of those people who suggests a craft idea where the price of the materials makes the whole DIY not worth it. I have run into too many of those, and with my budget of -$7 on most occasions, seeing crafts like those are simply depressing.

I have also decided to try to do a post called "Thrift Shop Thursdays." I'm gonna pop some tags with less than $20 in my pocket (did you sing it in your head?). I'm going to find some clothes in the thrift shop that have some qualities that I like, and remake them into clothes I would actually wear. Also, I know that sometimes it's hard to recreate clothing DIY's because you want your DIY to look just like the original. I know this because that's me, every time. However, I would encourage you to try out the DIY anyways and make it your own.

All that and who knows what else more will be spilling out of my brain onto this blog. Everything I post on this blog will be as real and honest as I can make it before I feel uncomfortable. I know our society craves authenticity so much these days, so I will try my best to be as authentic and #relatable as I possibly can (see what I did there?).

A few things before I go:

* I will (eventually) have ads on this blog (I didn't realize AdSense was so complicated), because, as I have mentioned a few times already, I'm broke, and a few extra bucks would be nice. But, if the ads get annoying or slow down the page too much, I'll get rid of them. I know how much I hate ads, so just let me know if they get on your nerves.

* The only extra social media I 'm setting up for this blog is a Twitter account, because it's the only social media besides Facebook that I sort of understand (and no one uses Facebook anymore, right?). However, I'll probably just use Twitter for updates about new blog posts. I don't really get sharing thoughts throughout the day in 140 characters or less, so my Twitter will be boring, but that's okay.

Anyways, I hope that I've made a good impression and that you'll come back for more.

So, (hopefully) see ya soon!
